LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- All trails are now open at the Howard Buford Recreation Area after a wildfire at Mt. Pisgah last week.
Most of the trails reopened on Tuesday morning after the fire led to evacuations at the park on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Today, county officials announced that visitors would once again be able to access the Eastern Trailhead and parking area and the full length of trails 6 and 46.
The fire burned 51.15 acres on the southeast side of Mt. Pisgah.
The Oregon Department of Forestry ruled the fire accidental. They said it started Aug. 15 when a county contractor was mowing to reduce invasive plant species present in the park. Mowing was allowed that day under the guidelines of the Industrial Fire Precaution Levels.
