CLOSURES: Jack Fire leads to closures of highway, river and more

The fire is threatening the Dry Creek area east of Glide.

DRY CREEK, Ore. – With the Jack Fire threatening the Dry Creek community, several closures are in place to protect the public.

As of July 16, the Oregon Department of Transportation has reopened Highway 138, but drivers are asked to use caution.

The Oregon State Marine Board has issued a temporary closure of the North Umpqua River from the Boulder Flat boat launch downstream to the Alder Creek confluence. This will remain in effect through July 18 or until the rule is lifted. You can find more information HERE.

Some areas of the Umpqua National Forest are closed to the public through Feb. 28, 2022, unless lifted sooner. To protect firefighters, the public will not be allowed to be on a closed road, go into a closed area or be on a closed trail. For a map of the closures, CLICK HERE.

The Horshoe Bend Campground remains closed, and people can call the North Umpqua Ranger Station at 541-496-3532 for information on whether other national forest sites and facilities near the fire are open.
