EUGENE, Ore. -- A field fire started up at James Park in the Glenwood area on Wednesday, and you could see the smoke from miles away.

Crews responded to the 4100 block of E. 19th Avenue at about 5 p.m.

The fire burned between four and five acres. Three trees were burned. Officials said the fire was close to Twin Totem mobile home park, and residents were evacuated for about 20 to 30 minutes while crews got the fire under control.

Officials also said embers from the fire flew across Franklin Boulevard, starting another fire. That fire burned less than an acre.

Both fires are now fully contained, crews cut down some the trees that were damaged.

Franklin Boulevard is closed between 19th and 20th avenues, and the closure could last for several hours.

The fire marshal is on scene investigating. The cause is not known at this time.
