IDLEYLD, Ore. -- Gov. Kate Brown is invoking the Emergency Conflagration Act for a wildfire in Douglas County that has grown to 900 acres.
Brown said the Jack Fire broke out Monday evening near the community of Dry Creek. Highway 138 is temporarily closed.
Resources from around Oregon will be arriving soon to assist with firefighting efforts.
"It is evident that this fire season is rapidly under way, and we must all remain aware and cautious, especially with activities that could spark a fire. We all need to do our part to help the many firefighters battling multiple fires across Oregon,” Brown said.
A Level 3 evacuation notice was ordered earlier on Tuesday for residents near the Eagle Rock Campground, meaning residents were asked to leave immediately. A Level 2 order, which means to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice, is in place for other residents.
