DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- The Jack Fire rapidly grew to 1,500 acres in eastern Douglas County Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said an inversion slowed fire activity during the day, but when it lifted around 3 p.m., flames began to spread fast. Firefighters were told to disengage from directly creating lines on the fire and are now working to make a large containment line.
There's now 200 people working on the fire. More resources are expected after Gov. Kate Brown's emergency order.
So far the fire is 0% contained.
