GLIDE, Ore. – Another area is seeing a reduction in evacuation level in Douglas County.
The sheriff’s office said part of Little River Road is now Level 2. The change has been effective since 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Residents on Little River Road from Highway 138E to Buckhorn Road are no longer under Level 3.
The change means residents may have time to gather necessary items. The sheriff’s office warns doing so is at their own risk. Emergency services can’t guarantee they will be able to notify residents if fire conditions grow worse quickly.
In the Little River area, crews are utilizing a combination of existing road systems and new dozer lines to check the fires spread. Structure protection resources remain in place throughout the Little River area.
"The reduction in these areas does not mean that the danger is gone. Residents, if deciding to return, must continue to monitor official sources of information and be prepared to leave at a moment's notice if the situation changes," said Sgt. Brad O'Dell. "Something residents should also be aware of is the current hazardous air quality in the area. Those with heart or lung health conditions, young children and those who are elderly should really take caution with the smoke."
