DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a grass fire four miles northeast of Drain off Rock Creek Road Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived on the scene around 2:30 p.m. and reported a four-acre fire burning in a previously mowed field.
Ground resources used a pump and roll tactic to stop the forward spread. Fire crews were also assisted on scene by the landowner who brought a water trailer to help put it out.
The Rock Creek Road fire burned a total of six acres before being put out. Crews remained on the scene until 5 p.m., mopping up hot spots and securing control lines.
