SALEM, Ore. -- Disaster Unemployment Assistance is now available for people who became unemployed or lost hours at work due to the wildfires, according to the Oregon Employment Department.
The benefits are available for workers impacted by the fire in Clackamas, Douglas, Jackson, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn and Marion Counties. Those who already qualified for regular state unemployment insurance or other pandemic-related benefits are not eligible.
The assistance is available to eligible workers for weeks of unemployment from Sept. 13 until March 20, 2021 as long as unemployment resulting from the fires continues.
