31-year-old Springfield man killed in motorcycle crash

Police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed over a bridge and lost control.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A Springfield man was killed in a motorcycle crash near Franklin Blvd. early Saturday morning. 

Police said 31-year-old Timathy Sagmoen was riding a Yamaha sport bike in the Glenwood area shortly before 4:00 a.m.

They said he was traveling south at a high rate of speed over a bridge and lost control. Police said Sagmoen hit a guardrail, and was ejected from the motorcycle into a wooded area. 

Police said Sagmoen suffered fatal injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. Springfield Police said if you witnessed the accident or have any additional information, call them.
