Corvallis residents learn about affordable homes in their area

The Corvallis Sustainability Commission gave a tour of affordable housing options.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition hosted a Creative Options Housing Tour to give people an idea of what kind of affordable housing options they have.

The houses shown included accessory dwelling units, small cluster housing, and even tiny homes.

Coalition Facilitator, Annette Mills, said it is important to have events like these because they start the conversation about an issue in the area.

One of the homes on the tour was built by Habitat for Humanity. It's very energy-efficient and uses energy from things like the refrigerator to keep the house warm.

Houses shown on the tour included some available for rent and some for sale.
