2 people treated after contact with rabid bats in Coos County

Two people, a man and a child, were exposed to rabies in Coos County.

COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- A child and one adult came into contact with rabid bats in Coos County.

Coos Health and Wellness said the first incident involved a child who was found with scratches on the hand. The child's mother caught the bat and had it tested.

In the second incident, a man said he woke up to pain in his leg and discovered he had been bitten.

Both people sought treatment within a week.
