SALEM, Ore. -- Oregonians will get a kicker rebate for the 2016 tax year.

The Office of Economic Analysis said more than $463 million will be returned to taxpayers.

Since the state doesn't issue kicker checks anymore, taxpayers will get a credit on their 2017 taxes.

To calculate the amount of your credit, multiply your 2016 tax liability before any credits -- line 24 on the 2016 Form OR-40 -- by 6.3 percent. This percentage is determined and certified by OEA. Taxpayers who claimed a credit for tax paid to another state may add the credit amount to their liability before calculating the credit.
