Eugene, Ore. - AFSCME took a break from striking Sunday and had a long night of negotiations with the county, but no agreement was reached.

The county had passed a proposal Sunday afternoon and the union later countered last night in hopes of reaching a settlement.

The two sides went back and forth until 1 AM Monday when the county declined the proposal. The union expects to hear from the county by the end of today (Monday).

While the strike and negotiations continue today AFSCME has partnered with "Occupy Medical" to provide free flu shots for Lane County residents so they don't have to cross picket lines.

That opens at 10 Monday morning at the Oregon AFSCME Council 75 office downtown.
