Sweet Home mother arrested for alleged child abuse

A 4-year-old child was released to DHS after police said his mother threw him into the bushes.

LEBANON, Ore. -- Police arrested a Sweet Home mother for allegedly hitting her young child and throwing him into the bushes.

Sheena Greathouse was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they received reports of child abuse in progress on the corner of South Main Road and Walker Road in Lebanon. Multiple callers reported that a woman had assaulted her small child before throwing him into the bushes.

Arriving officers arrested Greathouse, 27, on assault charges. She was booked into the Linn County Jail.

The 4-year-old suffered scratches and a head injury. He was checked out by medical personnel and was released to DHS.
