FLORENCE, Ore. -- Staff with chambers of commerce from throughout the state are meeting in Florence as part of the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce annual conference.

The Oregon State Chamber of Commerce is the largest grassroots organization for small businesses in the state.

KEZI spoke with Bettina Hannigan, the Executive Director of the Florence Chamber of Commerce.

Hannigan said the purpose of the conference is to allow staff members from chambers to come together and learn from each other. She said the conference is also to develop effective collaborative strategies that will engage the community.

Hannigan said last year Florence made $127-million in tourism revenue and created more than 1,300 jobs in their small coastal town.

"We're like the little engine that could because we are doing great things in our community and I am so pleased to see the collaborative effort between our chamber and our community that's really helping our community because the more resources we have the more we can help people."

She said the conference will wrap on Thursday.
