ALBANY, Ore. -- A Lebanon man was taken to OHSU with burns on 50 percent of his body after an explosion Tuesday night.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office responded to the 37000 block of River Drive at 7:36 p.m. When they arrived, they found evidence of an explosion and fire damage to a conex-style box trailer.

The Lebanon Fire Department and members of the Albany Fire Department Hazardous Materials team responded.

They said Nicholas Helms, 26, of Lebanon had been transported to the Lebanon Community Hospital with more than half of his body burned. Helms was later transported to OHSU.

The Linn Interagency Narcotics Enforcement (LINE) taskforce was called to the scene. They said evidence of an illegal butane hash oil lab was seized along with multiple pounds of marijuana, cash and firearms.

The Oregon State Police Explosives Unit was called to the scene for blasting caps found at the location.

Anyone with information about the explosion is encouraged to contact LINE at 541-791-0102.
