EUGENE, Ore.-- The 4J School District gave an update on their vaccination effort at Wednesday night's school board meeting.

District officials said there was a delay in vaccinating staff this week because of the severe winter storm in Portland over the weekend. However, those doses will be distributed on Monday. The district said on that day, the last of the first round of doses will be given out.

Starting next Friday, 4J staff will start getting their second round of vaccine doses. There will be vaccination clinics every Friday until all staff is fully vaccinated.

The district also gave an update on when students will return to hybrid learning. On a timeline presented to the board, it showed kindergarten and first grade will start mid-march, second through fifth grade will start on April 5, and middle and high school students will start a week later.

District officials made it clear that this is tentative. This time frame is based on the current vaccination rate in the district and case rate in the county. If any of that changes, so will the start of hybrid learning.
