EUGENE, Ore. -- Students in Eugene School District 4J will have an opportunity to receive Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine at a clinic on Wednesday, May 12.

The clinic is free and is the first one solely for 4J students ages 16 and up. It will be held at South Eugene High School and buses will be provided from 4J’s other three high schools for transportation.

Students need to make an appointment in advance.

The announcement comes as the FDA is currently considering emergency authorization of Pfizer's vaccine for ages 12-15. The district plans to schedule additional student vaccine clinics as vaccines are approved for younger age groups.
