SUTHERLIN, Ore. – A telephone line issue is causing a 911 outage in Sutherlin and Oakland.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said for now, people calling 911 from landline phones in the affected areas will reach the Sutherlin Police Department.

However, the department only has a dispatcher available until 1 a.m. After that time, the only way to reach 911 will be from a mobile phone.

Deputies said the outage is expected to continue to tomorrow.
