State sets maximum rent increase for next year at 9.9%

Per statute, OEA calculates this amount as 7% plus the Consumer Price Index.

SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Administrative Services has announced that the maximum rent increase allowed for 2022 is 9.9%.

The department is required to calculate and post the maximum percentage yearly by the end of September under SB 608, which passed in the 2019 legislative session. 

Per statute, the DAS Office of Economic Analysis calculates this amount as 7% plus the Consumer Price Index.
