Several injured in crash on McKenzie Highway

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Oregon State Police said four adults and an unknown number of children were sent to the hospital Saturday afternoon, after a four-vehicle crash on McZKenzie Highway.

It happened at around 11:00 a.m.

Police said a vehicle traveling west bound on the highway slowed down and signaled to turn onto Deerhorn Road, when the car behind it attempted to pass and caused four cars to slam into each other.

Multiple people were transported to the hospital, but there's no word on the extent of their injuries. Police said this accident serves as a reminder to drivers to always stay alert on the road.

"Just reminding the public to keep a special eye out, especially when we got thick game day traffic. Keep distractions to a minimum and obey the speed laws," said Trooper Jacob Luquin.
