ALBANY, Ore. -- The Albany Police Department is looking to the public for help in finding out who is responsible for a hate crime involving several vehicles.
Police said three vehicles were vandalized with racist graffiti and an ethnic slur outside an apartment complex near the 1800 block of Clay Street. The incident happened sometime between the evening of Sunday, Aug. 9, and the morning of Monday, Aug. 10.
According to authorities, two cars had swastikas painted on their windows. A third, not included in photographs, had a ethnic slur written on the tailgate.
Police have no suspects and are hoping someone may have seen something. Authorities said hate crimes of this nature are infrequent in Albany, and are reported to police about one or two times each year.
