Albany man faces attempted murder charge after stabbing

The victim fought back and was stabbed multiple times, police said.

ALBANY, Ore. – An Albany man is accused of stabbing another man in his face, chest and back on Sunday.

Jace Clifford, 31, of Albany faces charges of attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and first-degree assault.

Police said it happened at 7:45 a.m. in the 700 block of College Park Drive SW.

Clifford’s estranged wife showed up at his apartment with Zachary Seufert, 34, to pick up her car, police said. Clifford reportedly stabbed Seufert, who fought back and was stabbed multiple times in the struggle.

After the stabbing, Clifford reportedly retreated to his apartment, and police arrived to find Seufert bleeding from his stab wounds. Seufert was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

At about 8:05 a.m., Clifford left his apartment and was detained.
