ALBANY, Ore. -- An Albany man has been identified after drowning in the Santiam River Sunday evening.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Connor McIntosh fell off a tube while floating the river near Interstate 5.
A witness says he saw the man fall off the tube and go under, come back up, and try to swim against the current before going back under the water. He was not wearing a life jacket.
As we continue to experience warm weather, deputies have seen an increase in the number of people visiting lakes and rivers. The sheriff's office wants to remind everyone to wear a life jacket, regardless of age and swimming abilities.
