He was sentenced to three years of probation and 10 days in jail with credit for time served.

The original probation included not allowing Hillsman to possess or drink alcohol, but that requirement was removed a short time later.

Currently, Hillsman is being held in the Linn County Jail on charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants and two counts of criminal negligent homicide in connection with the crash.

He’s held on a nearly $30,000 bail.

So far, no court date has been officially scheduled.

Caleb Simonis, 19, and Shelby Simonis, 16, were killed in the crash. Kylee Simonis, 15, survived and is recovering in RiverBend Hospital.

Hillsman was not seriously injured in the crash.
