Alsea School shuts down for cleaning

The district said they believe the risk to students is low.

ALSEA, Ore. -- Alsea School announced their campus will be closed after a staff member's spouse tested positive for coronavirus, starting Thursday.

District officials said the affected staff member did not have any contact with students. They also said they expect classes to return on campus by Monday, Nov. 16. Those who may have been exposed will get a call from the district during their contact tracing of the positive case.

The district said they believe the risk to students is low.

Greenways and Learn at Home Oregon Students will attend classes as normal. But all extracurricular activities are canceled through Monday and the school board meeting is now scheduled for next Thursday, Nov. 19.
