American Legion Post #40 to host ceremony, replace cannon hit by vehicle

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- The American Legion Post #40 will be hosting its 72nd annual Memorial Day Ceremony Monday at 9 a.m.

This event will take place at the corner of ‘I’ Street and Mohawk Boulevard.

The cannon that was hit by a vehicle in March will be put back in place during the ceremony.

There will be a Color Guard in attendance, chaplain services, taps played, a wreath laying and several other events throughout the day.

Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon will be speaking.
