EUGENE, Ore. -- If you have FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad, you may want to disable it. There have been reports of a bug on the popular group FaceTime feature that allows people to listen in on your conversations, even if you haven't accepted a call.

Apple has made the group Facetime feature unavailable after users reported the bug. On Tuesday Apple's online support page said there was a technical issue with the popular app. Experts believe it stems from a bug in Apple's 12.1 iOS software involving group FaceTime.

KEZI 9 News spoke with Celia Boyer who uses FaceTime nearly every day. She said the reported bug has made her reconsider using the app.

"To me, it's just really creepy," Boyer said. "It makes me not want to use my phone. Everyone talks about they can hear us and see us through all technology and that just creeps me out because I don't want anybody to hear what I’m saying, if I’m not knowing that I’m talking to them."

If you want to take extra steps to ensure you don't encounter any issues, you should disable facetime. With an iPhone or iPad, all you have to do is open settings on the device, then scroll down and click on FaceTime, and then click the green button at the top of the screen to turn it off.

Apple said they have identified a fix that they plan on releasing later this week in the form of a software update.
