EUGENE, Ore. - A man is now in custody after Eugene police say he fired multiple rounds throughout a neighborhood.

Police received multiple calls on July 21 at 7:09 p.m. in the area of W. 12th Avenue and Lawrence Street reporting shots fired and a man running through the neighborhood armed with a gun.

Chet Jones Reeves, 39, was found in the 400 block of W. 12th Avenue with the firearm in his waistband. Police say he was initially non-compliant with officers but was eventually taken into custody.

Officers recovered the firearm, along with multiple shell casings. Luckily, no injuries or damages were reported.

Reeves was booked into Lane County Jail, charged with unlawful use of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless endangering and disorderly conduct.

This incident was less than 24 hours after another shots-fired call at the Lane Tower Apartments early Tuesday morning.
