SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A suspect has been arrested, accused of setting a home on fire in Springfield.

Three people were inside the home in the 1000 block of 20th Street when the fire started.

Brian Lane, 29, faces a first-degree arson charge and three counts of reckless endangerment.

When police responded to the scene just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the fire had already been put out. It burned an exterior wall of the home and a fence.

Deputy Fire Marshal determined that the cause of the fire was suspicious and believed it was set intentionally.

Officers reportedly discovered during their investigation that Lane had left the home just before the fire was noticed.
Lane was located at 42nd Street and Industrial Way and taken into custody on a parole violation. Evidence discovered at the scene of the fire led to the additional charges.
