Assisted living caregiver tests positive for COVID-19

All residents have been tested, and the facility is working to test all employees.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A caregiver at a Springfield assisted living facility has tested positive for COVID-19, Lane County Public Health said.

The person is a caregiver at Spring Valley Assisted Living. The facility is working with officials and has already tested all of its residents and is in the process of testing all employees.

In Thursday’s update, Lane County reported five new cases, bringing the total to 611, including confirmed and presumptive cases.

At this time, 34 are considered infectious, one fewer than the day before. Two people remain hospitalized. Nearly 47,000 residents have been tested.
