VENETA, Ore. -- The Lane County Sheriff's Office has not captured a suspect known to be armed in the Veneta area Friday.

Deputies said shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 29-year-old Sean Lovewell of Veneta, was seen on Erdman Way. They said he matched the description of a suspect deputies had been trying to locate since Wednesday for discharging a firearm during a dispute.

Deputies said they attempted to make contact with Lovewell and he fled the area. An extensive search of the area was conducted by the Lane County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, however, Lovewell was not located, according to the sheriff's office.

Lovewell is described as a white male, 6'6, 210lbs., bald with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a gray sweatshirt.

"There is reason to believe that the suspect is armed," said Carrie Carver with the Lane County Sheriff's Office. "We want to take every precaution."

The public is asked to report anything suspicious to the Lane County Sheriff's Office at 541-682-4150.
