SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield police said the high-speed chase started at around 11:40 p.m., Friday night, and ended about 6 minutes later when the driver crashed into a telephone pole.
Police have since identified the driver as 32-year-old, Beau Russell Anderson.
The man was driving a Honda Prelude when he failed to signal a lane change, which lead a Springfield Police officer to attempt to pull him over, but police said the driver sped off.
Police say once the driver crashed into the telephone pole on 42nd and Main Street, the K-9 unit was deployed and the driver sustained injuries from a dog bite, but not the car crash itself.
The driver is now at a hospital in Springfield being treated for the dog bite injuries, Police say he should be booked into Lane County Jail by Saturday morning.
Police say no one else was injured in this pursuit.
