EUGENE, Ore. -- A car crashed into a bedroom where a child was sleeping in a crib Tuesday night, but the child is unharmed, police said.

Police responded to Bailey Hill Road and 18th Avenue at about 7:50 p.m. They said Tyler Cole Eiman, 27, of Colorado, was westbound on 18th when he lost control and skidded over a curb, through a yard and into the bedroom of an apartment. The crib where the child was sleeping was pushed to the side by the vehicle.

Police said Eiman ran from the scene but was later captured. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people were in the vehicle in the time of the crash, and one had minor injuries.

No one else in the apartment was injured.

Eiman is being held in Lane County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, hit and run, recklessly endangering, second-degree assault and criminal mischief. He will be arraigned at the jail Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
