CORVALLIS, Ore. -- It's been 61 years since the last time Oregon State defeated USC in Los Angeles.

Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith says the players aren't paying attention to the losing streak.

"It's so much about what we're headed toward," OSU head coach Jonathan Smith says. "Previous years don't matter. It's going to come down to who can play the best for sixty minutes."

Oregon State is also preparing for the possibility of facing two different quarterbacks.

USC starter Kedon Slovis left Saturday's game against Washington State due to injury.

True freshman Jaxson Dart went 30 for 46 with 391 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans' win over the Cougars.

Smith is hoping OSU's upperclassmen will help the team on the road.

"This is a new season," Smith said. "Conference games, good opponent, we do got veterans on this team that turns into leadership on this team and they go back to work. We approach Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday really the same whoever we are playing on Saturday. We are counting on those leaders to do it. This will be a good experience. We do have some younger guys who will travel. First conference game for them. They'll prepare well."

Oregon State and USC will kick off on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Los Angeles.
