Benton County to swear in new sheriff

Jefri Van Arsdall will take the helm as sheriff following former Sheriff Scott Jackson.

BENTON COUNTY, Ore. -- Benton County announced they will swear in a new sheriff Monday.

Jefri Van Arsdall will take the helm as sheriff following former sheriff Scott Jackson who retired on February 1 after 25 years as Benton County's sheriff.

Van Arsdall has over twenty years of law enforcement experience working at the Corvallis Police Department from 2004 to 2015 before moving to baker county where he would eventually become the undersheriff.

His term will last until January 2023.
