SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Black Unity is holding its first clothing drive drop-off on Tuesday.
The event was set for noon to 2 p.m. at Little Axe Records in Springfield.
Organizers said members of the Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) community and anyone in need can come and take items for free.
They said they want to bring the community together to help the many BIPOC families who are struggling or going through homelessness right now.
If you would like to receive help, the event is open for families and individuals of any age.
For those who would like to donate, organizers ask that items that are donated be in good condition. They are accepting: clean clothing for men, women and children; appliances such as kitchenware, furniture, household items, and decor; clean, matching shoes; and cash donations and gift cards that will go to families in need.
Future events are planned for Nov. 24 from noon to 2 p.m. and Nov. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.
