BLUE RIVER, Ore. – The Blue River post office is back. The US Postal Service held a reopening dedication event on Wednesday.

A modular unit will serve as the post office after the previous one was destroyed in the Holiday Farm Fire. Residents had been driving 40 miles to Walterville to collect their mail.

Sen. Ron Wyden had this to say about the reopening: “I’m a United States senator to represent every nook and cranny. And on my watch, this community is not going to get short shrift.”

The postal service says they are determined to provide mailing services to hard hit communities like Blue River.
