MILO, Ore. — Detectives have identified the body of a young man found in mid-May along Tiller Trail Highway in rural Douglas County, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of the body just before 6:30 a.m. on May 18 in the 15000-block of Tiller Trail Highway, between the communities of Days Creek and Milo. The Sheriff's Office activated its Major Crimes Team to investigate, alongside the county Medical Examiner's Office.

On Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office said that detectives had identified the body as 22-year-old Eduardo Garcia Castellnos, a resident of Mexico. Detectives have notified Castellnos' family in Mexico of his death, and are reportedly working with officials there.

Detectives believe that Castellnos' body was "placed" where it was discovered along the highway, but the cause and manner of his death are still under investigation.

Anyone who has had contact with Castellnos is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office - Detective Division at 541-440-4458 or by email, referencing case #20-2162.
