SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A couple jumped into action and stopped a suspect from stealing a gun at Cabela's, according to police.
Paul Thomas and Carrie Gallic were at Cabela's on Friday when they saw a man with a "big 'ol rifle-looking black gun coming out of his jacket."

"She (Gallic) said, 'We need to get up. We need to stop it. We need to do something,'" said Thomas.
According to police, Nathan Livingston walked out of Cabela's with a gun stuffed in his jacket.
Thomas and Gallic said they chased him through the parking lot and called 911. They said he stopped across the street in a neighborhood 15 minutes later, right when police showed up to make the arrest.
"I don't know if he was out of breath or just tired of running," said Thomas.
Even though it turned out to be a pellet gun, Gallic said, "You're stealing a gun and what does that portray to the people around you? They're going to freak out."
Cabela's declined to comment.
