Salem, Ore. -- Senate Bill 1530 is one step closer to a vote on the senate floor.
Cap and Trade was passed out of the Senate Natural Resources Subcommittee and is now headed to the Joint Ways and Means Committee. The legislature has not set a date yet on when Ways and Means will take it up. However, the bill has to be voted on before the legislative session ends March 8th.
In January, Minority leader Herman Baertschiger Jr. told reporters there could be another walkout over this bill, similar to the nine-day boycott over a similar bill back in June 2019.
