LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- A 62-year-old man was arrested last week, accused of sexually abusing a young girl in January 2003.
A secret indictment unsealed this week in Lane County Circuit Court alleges that Charles Norris had sexual contact with the girl, who was under the age of 14 at the time.
On Monday, Norris entered not guilty pleas to two charges of first-degree sex abuse in the case. First-degree sex abuse is a felony and requires a mandatory sentence of six years and three months in jail if convicted.
Norris was booked into the Lane County Jail Friday. Norris is scheduled to be back in court on March 16.
