SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- The Springfield Christmas Parade is back on and organizers are asking the community to participate.
Over the last two months, Compton and Tonya Blakely have been doing everything they can to preserve the tradition of the Springfield Christmas Parade.
They decided to organize the Christmas Parade Miracle after they learned the annual parade was canceled in early October.

Compton and Blakely said they are very excited the parade is still happening and now they’re calling on the Springfield community to participate.
"I think our biggest issue right now is still, people are saying I didn't know it was back on, " said Compton. "That is barring people who want to participate in the parade from getting entry forms."
They are inviting people in the community to participate. Compton said participants must submit an entry form by November 27th.
"If you want to be a part of it, meaning if you want to march or ride in the parade, get a hold of us on our Facebook page, Christmas Parade Miracle," she said.
If you just want to attend, the parade is scheduled to take place December 2nd and is set to start at 1:00 p.m. The parade will also follow the same route as previous years.
