EUGENE, Ore. – The city of Eugene is partnering with the Bijou Art Cinemas to host a screening of a food waste film aimed to help viewers reduce their own waste.
The film “WASTED! The story of Food Waste” tries to change the way people buy, cook, recycle and eat food.
Famous chefs like Anthony Bourdain and Massimo Bottura show how they cut back on food waste and also how they turn what most may consider scraps into world-class dishes.
The film will be shown at 6 p.m. on April 5 at the Bijou Art Cinemas. There is a suggested $5 donation. All proceeds will go to "food-injustice" programs in Eugene.
There will also by a special limited time beer release from Hop Valley Brewing Company. The beer is made from stale bread and ugly vegetables that would’ve been wasted.
