EUGENE, Ore. -- Claim 52 Brewing in Eugene in hosting a special release event Wednesday for a new beer, to raise money for the McKenzie River Trust.
The business is releasing a beer named Groundswell and the proceeds will go towards restoration efforts needed after the Holiday Farm Fire. The money will also help protect the McKenzie watershed, which provides clean water to local breweries.
"Our hope is to build a coalition of support for McKenzie River restoration," said co-owner Mercy McDonald.
Groundswell is a Northwest pale ale brewed to celebrate the McKenzie River.
The beer will be on tap and available in four-packs to go at the event. Representatives from the McKenzie River Trust will also be there to explain the work underway and other ways the community can get involved.
The event is at Claim 52 Kitchen at 1203 Willamette St., and will run from 4:30- 7:30 p.m.
