LANE COUNTY, Ore.--- Community members sent KEZI 9 News responses to Lane County's new vaccine raffle offering those who get their first shots this week a chance to win tickets to Ducks football, men's basketball and women's basketball, as well as two pairs of tickets to the upcoming Olympic Trials.
Many viewers said it was unfair and that this incentive punishes those who got their shots early.
One viewer named Leslie Beekman wrote: "It's not fair that those of us who took the initative to get the vaccine early on aren't included in this lottery. It's like always having to reward the bad child when they finally do something good, just for the reward. It's ridiculous."
Another viewer named Sondra Lou said: "Does seem strange to award people who waited to get shots and possibly expose others."
Entries to the raffle began on Thursday, June 3 and will go up until Monday, June 7.
Participants interested in Olympic Trials tickets must opt for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to attain full vaccination status in time for the event.
