EUGENE, Ore. -- Thomas Copeland was sentenced Thursday morning to life in prison with a chance for parole after 25 years for the October 2018 shooting death of Eugene security guard Frank Ledgett.
Copeland was convicted of murder earlier this month.

Ledgett was on duty as a private security guard the night of his death. Security camera footage, along with video from Ledgett's body camera, captured the deadly shooting. It happened outside of Season's Bar on Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard.
