EUGENE, Ore. -- A University of Oregon student tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, officials said.
They are recovering in isolation, and public health officials are contact tracing and monitoring people associated with the case.
Due to privacy laws, not many details about the individual are available, but according to the university, they had access to university facilities within two weeks of their coronavirus test on June 12.
Officials said their contact with the campus community was minimal.
UO plans to have students return to campus for the fall term following state and federal guidelines. Some students told KEZI 9 News that they are concerned about the return to campus now that a case on campus has been identified.
Some precautions are already in place like handwashing stations across campus. Starting Monday, all people inside campus buildings must wear face masks.
