CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man at the Corvallis skatepark on Saturday.

Corvallis police say a community member called 911 and reported a female wearing a dark colored jacket stabbing a man at 190 SW B Ave. at about 9:45 p.m.

Witnesses said James Cleveland, 42, walked over to a tent to ask someone for a cigarette when Mandy Switzler, 43, attacked him and stabbed him in the stomach.

When police responded, they found Cleveland in shock and bleeding heavily. They located a large kitchen knife with blood on the blade near the scene that matched the description. Cleveland was transported to  Good Samaritan Hospital where he was in stable condition.

Police arrested Switzler after she was identified by the caller. Authorities said it is unclear why she stabbed the victim and was said to smell strongly of alcohol at the time.

Switzler faces charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The case is under investigation.
