RAINBOW, Ore. – The Holiday Farm Fire east of Springfield has grown to 37,000 acres, officials reported at 5:30 p.m.

Containment remains at 0%. Gov. Kate Brown declared the fire a conflagration, which allows resources from across the state to help, but firefighting resources are scarce with so many fires burning around the state.

Yamhill and Polk counties have sent task forces to help on the fire.

Several residents were unable to evacuate with road blocked by fire and debris. When several roads were cleared, firefighters helped 46 people escape the evacuation zone.

Homes and structures have been destroyed, and crews are working to find anyone who may still be trapped in their home.

Communication towers in the area are down.

Damon Simmons with the Oregon State Fire Marshal's office said they took command Tuesday morning.

Currently, 25 crews are on site – all hand and ground crews.

“It’s all ground apparatus right now and the reason for that is the way that it’s socked in makes it so air assets can’t fly right now so that’s not a tool we can use at this time,” Simmons said.

The fire is burning on both sides of the river two miles west of Vida along Highway 126 between mileposts 27 and 46. Highway 126 has been closed.

Officials said the fire started on Monday, but the cause is not yet known.

EVACUATIONS: Full List

Residents affected by the fire can call Lane County's non-emergency call center at 541-682-3977 between the hours of 7 and 10 a.m. After-hours calls will be transferred to the sheriff's office non-emergency phone line.

Below is a map of evacuation notices. Areas in red are under Level 3 and areas in orange are under Level 2. Level 3 was expanded to the Mohawk Valley at 6 p.m.
